Chair-based yoga and dementia
Chair-based yoga can be a gentle, accessible way to support movement, breathing, balance, confidence and social connection. For people living with dementia, simple seated movement may help create routine, reduce anxiety and encourage safe activity when standing classes are not suitable.
Classes should be calm, familiar and adaptable, with clear instructions and support from carers where needed. Always follow medical advice and choose activities that suit the person on the day.
In Laughton, chair yoga classes are run by Yvonne Lovatt at My Time Yoga.
